COVID-19 Has Altered the Budget Process

Ordinarily, the WWHD would hold a public hearing in which members of the public are invited to attend and provide comment. However, on March 10, 2020, the Governor declared a public health and civil preparedness emergency and, since that date, has issued several Executive Orders which prohibit the gatherings of people and modifies the obligation of various entities, including WWHD, to hold in-person public hearings.

Therefore, in accordance with Executive Order 7I, as clarified by Executive Order 7HH, the WWHD will proceed with the adoption of its annual budget without having an in-person Public Hearing. To provide the public with access to the WWHD’s proposed budget documents, the draft budget has been posted on this website, along with the towns of Westport, and Weston. Public comments can be submitted to the WWHD Board of Directors at its Monday, May 11, 2020 Board meeting.
