Library to Host Panel on Opioid Addiction Oct. 19

Experts on opioid addiction will hold a panel discussion Thursday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Westport Library’s Large Reading Room, library officials announced.

Monica K. Wheeler, director of community health for the Westport Weston Health District, is set to moderate the panel. It will include Elaine Daignault, Westport’s director of Human Services, Denique Weidema-Lewis, director of prevention at Positive Directions, and Gary Mendell, CEO of Shatterproof, a national, nonprofit organization that he founded after his son died of addiction.

The panel is being sponsored by the law firm Cohen & Wolf, and the event is free and open to the public.
